A maximum of three years depending on the level of entry.

AAT Intermediate Level

This is a professional course for people who wish to obtain an accounting qualification.  It is sponsored by three main accountancy bodies and is a nationally recognised qualification.

Who is the course for?
Individuals who are looking to retrain in accountancy, or
Individuals who have practical accounting experience but no formal qualification

What will I study?
At Intermediate level there are:

3 accounting units,1 computing unit*, 1 business knowledge unit*

*  If not completed at Foundation level

How will I be taught?
It is taught in formal lectures with students actively encouraged to participate and to bring their own accounting knowledge and experience to lectures.

How will I be assessed? 
The course is assessed by skills tests which are assessed internally and two examinations which are assessed by the AAT.

Where could this course lead?
The progression is to the Technician level of the qualification.

Entry Requirements

There are three levels:

  • Foundation
  • Intermediate
  • Technician

All students have an initial interview with the course manager to establish appropriate entry level.
