AAT Technician Level

This is the final stage of a professional accounting qualification.  It is a nationally recognised accounting qualification in its own right but students may progress to other accounting qualifications where certain exemptions are available on completion of the technician level. Advice is given to students to career progression.

Who is the course for?
Individuals who have practical accounting experience wishing to progress to a management position, or those progressing from the AAT Intermediate Level.

What will I study?
At Technician level there are:

3 compulsory accounting units
4 accounting options of which 2 are chosen
4,000 word project on an aspect of accounting

How will I be taught?
It is taught in formal lectures with students actively encouraged to participate and to bring their own accounting knowledge and experience to lectures.

How will I be assessed? 
The course is assessed by skills tests which are assessed internally and a minimum of three examinations depending on the options chosen.  The examinations are assessed by the AAT.

Where could this course lead?
Students may wish to use the qualification to progress to other accounting qualifications.

  • Foundation
  • Intermediate
  • Technician

All students have an initial interview with the course manager to establish appropriate entry level.
