CIM - Introductory Certificate in Marketing
CIM is Europe’s largest professional body for marketing and sales practitioners. This course introduces the learner to the basic concepts of Marketing and enables them to develop primary knowledge and skills to working in a marketing environment.
Who is this course for?
This course is for those who wish to gain basic skills in Marketing. It is ideal for those in junior roles or jobs which involve some marketing-related tasks, as well as those who hope to develop a career in Marketing.
What will I study?
You will study two compulsory modules:
‘What is Marketing?’ which defines the subject, explains the basic terms used in Marketing and it’s role across organisations.
‘Understanding Customer Relationships’ which looks in more detail at internal and external customers
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through weekly seminars. You will also be expected to undertake a programme of self-study.
How will I be assessed?
The ‘What is Marketing?’ module is assessed through a one-hour online test. For ‘Understanding Customer Relationships’, you must complete an assignment.
Where could this course lead?
Following this course, you could progress to the ‘Professional Certificate in Marketing’, or seek employment in a Marketing-related role.
Entry Requirements
For anyone wishing to gain basic skills in marketing. It is not necessary to have any previous experience or knowledge of marketing to join this course.
