CIM - Professional Certificate in Marketing

This course aims to give students a more practical and applied insight into Marketing and how to devise and execute Marketing activities.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for those in junior marketing positions and who undertake marketing activities as part of their job.  More experienced marketers often take this course to consolidate their understanding.

What will I study?
You must complete four modules to gain the Certificate:

Unit 1 – Marketing Essentials
This module outlines the key Marketing theories and looks at the planning process and Marketing’s role across and organisation.

Unit 2 – Assessing the Marketing Environment
This module looks at the internal and external marketing environment, including global and international marketing. 

Unit 3 – Marketing Information and Research
This module looks at the importance of effectively collecting marketing data, as well as good practice and research methods.

Unit 4 – Stakeholder Marketing
For this module, students look at the role and range of stakeholders.

How will I be taught?
You will be taught through weekly seminars.  You will also be expected to undertake a programme of self-study.

How will I be assessed?
Unit 1 and Unit 2 are assessed through examination.  Unit 3 and Unit 4 are assignment-based.

Where could this course lead?
People who take this course can apply for Marketing jobs or continue to the Professional Diploma course.

Entry Requirements

For those who are in junior marketing positions, aspire to a career in marketing or those moving into marketing from other backgrounds. Many of those who enrol will be marketing assistants or maybe personal assistants. The course is also a useful introduction to marketing for those working in a marketing support role. Successful candidates can progress to the Professional Diploma in Marketing.
