Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply - Foundation Diploma
Procurement is a profession that can determine the success of a company and this course starts you on the road to a qualification that will be of use to you and your organisation.
Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the field of procurement or who wants to attain a nationally recognised purchasing qualification.
What will I study?
The course consists of five compulsory modules:
• Effective Negotiation in Purchasing and Supply
• Developing Contracts in Purchasing and Supply
• Measuring Purchasing Performance
• Managing Purchasing and Supply Relationships
• Purchasing Context
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through face-to-face tutorial, supported by our online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Moodle. You will be expected to embark upon a programme of personal study based upon a recommended reading list.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through examination. The UCY recommends that students take two exam sets per year, although the CIPS allows students to take up to four exam sets per year.
Where could this course lead?
Having completed this Foundation Diploma, students can progress to the Advanced Diploma, followed by the Graduate Diploma. Progression to the higher level is dependant on passing the current level. On completion of each level, a student can elect to finish studying and receive an appropriate award. However completion of all three levels is the equivalent of a 2.2 degree and will allow you to attach the letters ‘MCIPS’ after your name.
