FdA Creative Practices - Media Practice
This course focuses on audio-visual production, animation, motion graphics and interactive design and encourages you to develop original and innovative ideas and scaleable business models should you wish to work freelance or establish your own studios.
Who is this course for?
This course is particularly suitable for those who wish to pursue careers in the growing Media Practice industry, including audio-visual production, animation, motion-graphics and interactive media. The course can be studied full-time or part-time, allowing students to study alongside other commitments.
What will I study?
The FdA Creative Practice - Media Practice is focused primarily on audio-visual production, animation, motion graphics and interactive design. Emphasis can be placed on a medium of your choice and students are encouraged to work outside of conventional forums, where appropriate, so that they are able to investigate and continually respond to the changing conventions of the sector.
This course runs alongside the FdA Creative Practices Fine Art, offering opportunities for cross-disciplinary debate and shared experiences for students on both courses.

How will I be taught?
The course includes specialist workshops in skills relevant to your area of study. Creative Industries modules are delivered to mixed groups through a combination of lectures and reflective tutorials. Students benefit from a high staff-student ratio, ensuring one-to-one, specialist guidance is also available. In addition, you will be expected to continue your studies and studio practice in your own time.
How will I be assessed?
Modules are assessed through the generation of a portfolio of practical work, reflective Learning Journals produced during the course and two formal essays.
Where could this course lead?
Upon successful completion of the FdA in Creative Practices - Media Practice, students can progress to a BA (Hons) Top-up programme in their chosen specialism or seek employment in the Creative Industries.
Entry Requirements
You should have the equivalent of 80 points from one or more GCE/A Levels or a relevant Level 3 qualification, or a Foundation diploma in Art and Design or Media, or substantial recent practical experience, a portfolio of work and appropriate language and numeracy skills.
