Foundation degree in Garden History and Heritage Horticulture

The course will impart knowledge of garden history, and develop skills required for the management of historic gardens and heritage horticulture sites. These are an important part of the conservation of the beautiful garden heritage that we have throughout the country but especially here within the south-west.

The course is based at Hestercombe Gardens, the important garden near Taunton with its range of integral gardens and the famous platt designed by Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens.

Anyone working, volunteering or interested in historic gardens and heritage horticulture.

How will I be taught?
Lectures, seminars, tutorials, practicals and visits

How will I be assessed?
The majority of the assessments will be through coursework, with assignments and projects, but with some end-of-module assessments.

Where could this course lead?
An appropriate higher level qualification such as an Honours or Masters degree in Garden History.
