FdA Business and Management

This is a broad-based business and management course offering an industry-relevant qualification to students from a diverse range of learning and age backgrounds, and enabling students to develop personally and professionally. This philosophy is reflected in the course structure, which provides breadth of knowledge, flexibility and a wide range of learning experiences.


Who is this course for?
For students who wish to benefit from small classes with more interaction between staff and students. UCY students are seen as individuals who learn in different ways and have different needs. This enables our students to achieve their full potential.

Year 2
• Working in an International Context
• Understanding Organisations and HRM
• Operations Management
• Consumer Behaviour and Market Research
• Work-based Learning
• Financial Analysis

How will I be taught?
The full-time course will be 3 days for 30 weeks (over 2 years) and the part-time one afternoon/evening per week (over 3 years).  You will be taught using a mixture of class-room lectures, seminars, tutorials and on-line learning using both the Internet and our own Virtual Learning Environment.


How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by assignment work and examinations. Assignments can take a variety of forms including individual problem solving, group work, presentations and time-constrained work.  You will be given a calendar of assignments at the beginning of each year of study in order to plan your time effectively. There will also be some examinations.


Where could this course lead?
Successful completion of the Foundation degree will enable students to progress to the top-up Honours degree which is delivered at the UCY. This will take two years over one day per week, or one year if you study full-time.
