Duration

The course is studied over two years, typically from October to May on a day release basis, approx 28 days in total per year. Possibly from 8-30am to 6-30pm. Studying five units during the day, 1.5hours per unit.

HNC Mechanical Engineering

The 10 unit award provides an appropriate technical education for a range of technical and management careers in engineering. It also provides specialist studies which are directly relevant to job roles in which learners are currently working or in which they intend to seek employment.

Who is this course for?
The course is designed to complement the industrial training of apprentices/trainees preparing for related technician occupations and to provide a broader specialist knowledge and experience for the higher technician occupations.

How will I be taught?
A typical day consists of a total of 5 sessions of 1.5 guided learning hours. There are break periods and lunch times in addition

How will I be assessed?
All assessments are assignment based and there are no formal exams. All units are internally assessed. All assessment is criterion referenced based on the achievement of specified learning outcomes.

Where could this course lead?
Higher Technician occupations, progression onto a HND or Degree course.
