ILEX - Level 3 Certificate in Law & Practice

This is a one year course focusing upon a specific area of law and practice. The certificate can be studied as a stand alone course and would suit anyone with an interest in law or working within a legal environment. Alternatively, the certificate can form Year 1 of the new Level 3 Diploma in Law and Practice. So if you wish ultimately to qualify as a Legal Executive you should enrol on this course.

What will I study?
There are three compulsory units:

• Introduction to law and practice
• Client care skills 
• Legal research skills

In addition, you must complete two further units:

• Criminal Law
•Criminal Litigation

How will I be assessed? 
One multiple choice examination of 1 hour; two closed book exams of 1.5 hours each and two pieces of internally assessed coursework

Progression to the new ILEX Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice

Entry Requirements

To undertake an ILEX Level 3 course, applicants should have four GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications.  To commence the ILEX Level 6 Diploma, students should have completed the Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law, or have equivalent qualifications.
